Hoje a Nintendo anunciou o nome oficial e definitivo pro seu novo console, conhecido até ontem pelo codinome Revolution.

Wii. Achou estranho? Eu achei genial; bem diferente dos pomposos PlayStation e Xbox 360, o Wii não quer destruiur todos os oponentes e espalhar sangue pela sala, mas sim entreter e unir todas as pessoas através dos jogos. Perfeito para o objetivo do console que é atingir em cheio os casual gamers.

A Nintendo também lançou um vídeo para apresentar o novo nome, que mostra perfeitamente o conceito por trás da marca.

Mas o que achei ainda mais impressionante foi o texto da campanha de lançamento. Se isso não é a perfeição em textos publicitários, pelo menos chega bem perto!

Introducting… Wii.

As in “we.”

While the code-name “Revolution” expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer.
